- 35% more power
- Better heat control
- More Color and More Output!
Check out some of the new products coming to the market:
Radion Gen 5 PRO or BLUE
The Radion now offers a Pro or Blue version whereas on the earlier models, they had the Standard and Pro. The price is the same for either model however the Pro version seems to output a bit more power. None the less still looks to be a very promising light.
The pro color spectrum is on the left while the Blue color spectrum is on the right. For those who prefer the “bluer” look, getting the Radion Blue G5 might be the route. The Pro, on the other hand, is supposed to be very close in spectrum to the tried and true halide of the 90’s.

And here’s the new look of the XR15 Gen 5 Pro
The design of the XR15 looks to be similar to the older model in terms of fan and LED placement except with a larger single centered light cluster. The XR30, however, went with a single long puck while removing the fan air intake from the bottom (between the two LED pucks on the previous generation) to the top of the fixture. Overall still similar in size to its predecessor.
Radion XR30 Gen 5 New Heat Sink Design
This new monstrous heatsink reminds me of a grand top dollar video gaming graphics card!
The fan on this new generation is supposed to be quieter. Something Ecotech says we will notice. The improved design will ensure the fan is on at low speeds and only ramps up when needed. This efficient design, passive and active cooling, makes it that much more efficient.
On the flip side, one of the things I disliked about the XR30 Gen 4 was that the fan was on all the time. The only way to stop the fan was to control its outlet plug by using something like a Neptune Apex system. I hope with this new design, the fan will know to turn off when it’s not needed. We will surely know when they become available.
10 Channel to Control
Based on the led type, there are 8 channels of daylight control with the last 2 channels dedicated to Lunar lighting. There will be 2 dedicated low output moonlight with each being independently controlled. Each channel is controlled and programmed through the mobile app available to Android and IOS users.
Mobius Control
This new generation of lighting comes with Ecotech’s new generation of software control. Bluetooth is offered in terms of connectivity with the LED light however Ecotech promises a WiFi option for those who desire. Wifi will be released at a later date. No ETA at the moment.
Light Output
This Next Level HEI Optics reduces hotspots by 30 percent and evens out the light distribution while providing 35% more total output. LED placement and spacing were considered to ensure color blending.
Mounting Option
Based on what we can tell, the old RMS rails and mounting arms can be used however you will need to purchase a G5 specific adapter to mount the light onto the rail/mount. The XR15 and XR30 will have their own specific mounting hardware.
Diffusion
For maximum color blending, a new diffuser is available. This new version is magnetically mounted so no tool is needed. Just snap it onto the light fixture. This also makes cleaning the diffuser a breeze!
